While my current interest is in computer graphics, my professional career has been in hardware logic design. One of the very first integrated circuit design I worked on is shown below:
It is a photo of an 18Mbit memory chip joinly developed by Rambus Inc. and NEC Corporation. Its claim to fame is that it was used by Nintendo for their N64 console, of which millions and millions of units have been sold worldwide since its introduction in 1996. Other memory chip designs I have worked on since then went into diverse products such as the Sony Playstation 2 (>100 million units), Pentium 4 based PCs, flat panel displays, HDTVs, DLPs (digital light projectors) etc...
