Computer Graphics is an exciting and continuously evolving field. Anyone who has seen the Matrix or Shrek can attest to the advances made.
I got interested in CG (as it is commonly called) when the memory chip (of which I designed the logic interface) from my company Rambus, Inc. went into the Nintendo 64 game console. Playing Mario 64 on the N64 was my first experience with 3D graphics. Althought that game is dated by today’s standards, It was quite impressive at that time and I was suitably awed. Since then, I have supplemented my limited knowledge by reading what I can on the subject, attending trade conferences such as Siggraph, downloading sample code from the OpenGL website, and taking a Computer Graphics course on the side. So far, this has resulted in the creation of several demos and one 3D game that, while simplistic, I am quite proud of.
